Ashton Wolfley

Former IT engineer, aspiring architect

I'm Ashton, and I’m a graduate student at Catholic University’s Architecture school expecting to graduate in the spring of 2024. I made my way to architecture after a short career in Business IT, which I found ultimately unsatisfying. In 2019 I enrolled in my local community college and began a journey to realize my passion in architecture. For years I had poured my free time into design as a hobby. I now seek to make it my career.

In my third semester at CUA, I transitioned into the (exemplary) classical program and have absolutely fell in love with the practice of traditional architecture. If I had to sum up my design prerogative in one idea, it would be the pursuit of timelessness, which has no better bedfellow than the accumulated wisdom of thousands of years.

From a technical perspective, I am proficient in drafting (AutoCAD), modeling (SketchUp), rendering (V-Ray), and post-production (Adobe Suite). My IT background includes professional certifications in Microsoft - from server level infrastructure to OS and software.

My strongest intangible is architectural instinct: the ability to immediately recognize sound design and the intuition to remedy that which is not. In my estimation, this is an invaluable skill within a field too often relegated to tastelessness
